About Us

Mirlena Sanchez, M.S., CCC-SLP

Mirlena is a licensed/certified bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist with over 20 years of experience. Mirlena's passion for the field of speech and language pathology began in her native Puerto Rico, where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Science, Speech and Language Therapy from Carlos Albizu University. Her commitment to the field led her to the University of the District of Columbia, where she earned a Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology after being granted a full scholarship. Mirlena's clinical experience includes early intervention, language delays, articulation, feeding difficulty, and neurodiversity. Additional training has been completed with the SOS Approach to Feeding and Pivotal Response Training (PRT) conferences, Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP), TOTs (Tethered Oral Tissues), and the ABA Graduate Certificate Program from George Mason University. Her clinical experience is highlighted by the numerous professional memberships and certifications Mirlena has obtained, ranging from a Graduate Certificate in Special Education and Brain Injury from George Washington University, a Graduate Certificate in Bilingual SLP, and a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology. She also holds a current Virginia Early Intervention Certification. Outside of work, Mirlena loves spending time with her husband, 3 children, and her two dogs.

Pronto Therapy Group's therapists consist of highly qualified and caring professionals. We are a team of licensed speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and early childhood interventionists dedicated to providing excellent services to children. All of our therapists are licensed and certified to provide Early Intervention services with the Commonwealth of Virginia.
